African American Mentorship Program (AAMP)

Welcome to UCSC!

AAMP is the African American Mentorship Program created in 2012 by the African American Resource & Cultural Center (AARCC) as an effort to support African/Black/Caribbean (ABC) students within their 1st year. The program pairs first-year (Frosh & Transfer) mentees with mentors that have similar interests, courses of study, etc. in order to support the transition to the university. We champion professional development for mentors and enabling mentees with a greater sense of community and belonging in preparation for their journey here at UCSC. Having a mentor can be extremely helpful in navigating the campus and the UC system as a whole. We succeed by lifting up others!
