Growing community, leadership, and legacy
The African American Resource & Cultural Center (AARCC) exists to affirm and uplift African, Black, and Caribbean (ABC) students at UC Santa Cruz. Through mentorship, cultural events, academic and personal support, and community-building programs, we foster a vibrant space where students feel seen, valued, and empowered to thrive. Your support helps us continue this vital work.

Why your gift matters
AARCC is more than a resource center—it’s a space where ABC students can feel at home and connect with community. Every gift helps create opportunities and strengthen the support systems students count on, including:
- Student mentorship and leadership development through programs like the African American Mentorship Program (AAMP) and ABC Housing Mentors.
- Access to basic needs resources like The Black Shop, a culturally affirming pantry stocked with personal care items and everyday essentials.
- Cultural celebrations and community gatherings, including Black Grad, the Welcome Black BBQ, and the Black Love Gala.
- Academic and wellness support through workshops, peer connections, and affirming spaces.
Whether you’re an alum, a parent, a member of the UCSC community, or friend who believes in this work, your gift helps ensure that ABC students continue to thrive—on campus and beyond.
